Hello everyone, I hope this finds you well and I thank you for any help you can provide. We are trying to run AJRW to open 2016, but we are receiving the error message 'Depreciation not posted completely' for our asset 0432. We have found the reason for this message is that 2014 was not properly closed. We tried to run AJAR for 2014 and receive the following error message: 'The planned depreciation was not completely posted to Financial Account for asset 0432 in company code **** in depreciation area 01.'
After researching this asset, it looks like the previous accountant retired it as of 12/15/2014 on 01/15/2015. That should not have been possible because we must have our books closed on 01/12/2015. However, it happened and we must fix it. I have tried to run AFAB using 'Unplanned Posting Run', but nothing happens for this asset (I'm guessing because it is retired). I am thinking that ASKB never properly ran for this asset. We can see the movements in the local accounts only but not in the global, meaning it was never properly retired for IFRS purposes.
The only thing I can think of to possibly correct this is to do a post-capitalization transaction and then retire the asset, but I am afraid of what that will do to their local / global books. I think that would keep a running difference. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
