We are implementing BI Suite in 2016, so trying to understand Design Studio a bit. I've done enough review to get to a practical question - what skills does the developer need to have to build solutions ?
I understand that the solution is HTML / CSS / JavaScript, so do the developers need these hard skills ? Currently, all we have is Web Intelligence, which is fairly easy to learn, with the skills needed for end user ad-hoc reporting akin to learning tricks like in Excel.
I chatted with SAP and they just pointed to the overview. This discussion says you do need the HTML etc skills:
Jeroen van der A: It is good to have CSS, HTML, and a broad knowledge of JavaScript. You don’t have to know those in detail, but have an understanding of how methods and properties work in general and some basic syntax
For Web I Developers who have no exposure to HTML / CSS / JavaScript, is this going to be daunting ? requiring a base of web programming skills before developing solutions in Design Studio ?
